North Carolina Girl Scout STEM Festival
GSCP2P will host a State-wide Girl Scout STEM Festival at the North Carolina Zoo with a theme of Space. This hands-on event will present girls with challenges from a variety of STEM fields. From coding, to manipulating robots, and even tasting some astronaut food “girls will get messy and have fun learning about what it takes to be a engineer and/ or astronaut." The request is for an AstraFemina speaker to share their personal journey and why they decided to pursue the career they did. The speaker would talk for 20 minutes and answer pre-screened questions for about 30 minutes. Would like the speaker to be working in the space industry. Also would ask the speaker to be available for photos with the girls.
300-500 girls: Daisy (grades K-1),Brownie (grades 2-3),Junior (grades 4-5),Cadette (grades 6-8),Senior (grades 9-10),Ambassador (grades 11-12)
